Kaixo #BasqueCountry! Enterprise Singapore and Basque Trade & Investment / Agencia Vasca de Internacionalización signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote two-way internationalisation and innovation collaborations between Basque and Singapore companies. Sectors of focus include advanced manufacturing, agrifoodtech, urban solutions & infrastructure services, and offshore wind. The MOU was signed by Mikel Amundarain Leibar, President of BasqueTrade and Vice Minster of Industry for Basque Country, and Alan Yeo, Director Europe of Enterprise Singapore. This is the first bilateral MOU between BasqueTrade and EnterpriseSG. Enterprise Singapore also brought Singapore companies GSS ENERGY LTD, Nanofilm Technologies International Limited, Esco, and Durapower Holdings Pte Ltd to meet with key partners and companies in the Basque Country, so as to gain insights on Basque capabilities and explore partnerships. We are happy that various business opportunities have been discovered and will be advanced in subsequent meetings. Like Singapore, Basque Country has a strong focus on innovation and advanced manufacturing, with 25% of the Basque Country's GDP from industry activities and 50% of Spain’s automotive component companies based out of the Basque Country. For Basque companies looking to expand their footprint in the growing Southeast Asian region, Singapore and our companies are well placed to support such internationalisation efforts. Big thanks to all the partners and people who made this trip possible: Ainhoa Ondarzabal, Alberto Gavín Acero and Pablo Huidobro Eguia Cristina Andrés Urarte at Euskadiko Parke Teknologikoa - Parque Tecnológico de Euskadi Raquel Piñan at ACICAE - Basque Country Automotive Cluster Mikel Etxabe at AFM Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Baltasar Perez at Fagor Automation | CNC & Feedback Systems | Automation Solutions Yolanda R. EnterpriseSG - Europe reposted this
Today, on 22nd March, EuroCham’s Sustainability Committee sat down with Enterprise Singapore to discuss the Singapore offshore wind strategy. We would like to express our gratitude to Enterprise Singapore for hosting us, especially to Mr Soh Lengwan, Mr Taufik Ahmed Faroock, Mr Finian Lim Run Jian, Ms Anisah Ahmad and Ms Joyce Kua for an engaging dialogue and for continuing fostering collaborations with European organisations. The dialogue touched upon the importance of decarbonisation and energy transitions in the region, in which offshore wind could play a big role. We explored various collaboration avenues, solutions, bottlenecks and strategies to position Singapore as a base for offshore wind supply chain, financing, R&D and innovation hub. Moreover, we discussed European initiatives and frameworks that can help foster greater collaboration between Europe and Asia. We would like to thank all who joined us and made this dialogue a fruitful one. #TeamEurope #EuroChamSG #OffshoreWindStrategy Nele Cornelis Melissa Holck Christine Jeremiah Tanya Sahni Clémence Fournier-Talmant Eva Vincetic Benoit Sauveroche Eduardo H. Widening pathways between #Singapore and #Kazakhstan. Enterprise Singapore recently participated in Digital Almaty 2024, Kazakhstan's platform for discussing the country's digital agenda. This year's event attracted around 30,000 visitors where some 200 speakers shared their insights on various topics such as govtech, Industry 4.0 & AI. Participants had the opportunity to engage with various government officials, business leaders, entrepreneurs and financiers. Together with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), e27 (Optimatic), Global DTC (Digital Trade Corridor) and Quest Ventures, we shared Singapore's digitisation efforts and how the private and public sector are working in tandem to drive our initiatives.
