As CapitaLand Group marks 30 years of successful operations in Vietnam, CapitaLand Development (CLD) has set a target to grow our residential portfolio in the country to 27,000 units by 2028. The 5-year target is about 70% higher than CLD’s current residential portfolio in Vietnam of about 16,000 units. This was announced at the groundbreaking ceremonies for our latest residential projects Sycamore in Binh Duong province and Lumi Hanoi in Hanoi. With its growing economy and increasing urbanisation, Vietnam continues to present opportunities for CLD to tap on our expertise in real estate and sustainable development. Ever wondered what’s behind #Vietnam’s emergence as a key #manufacturing base? It’s enabled by #infrastructure developments such as the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP), which provide a reliable platform for manufacturers. Since the first VSIP was set up in 1996 in Bing Duong Province, there are now 18 VSIPs across Vietnam that have attracted 880 manufacturers from 30 countries, generating employment for 250,000 workers. We recently visited the VSIP at Hai Phong, which has also contributed to the province’s development as a key logistics and manufacturing node in North Vietnam, especially for the electronics industry. Find out more about Vietnam’s manufacturing landscape and available opportunities here: https://lnkd.in/gh_9t9zw
I wanted to find a photo of the ground breaking ceremony of #Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park VSIP Hai Phong that i attended in 2010. I wanted to do a comparison of Hai Phong then and now. However, tried as i might i was not able to find it. 15 years ago, a piece of empty land, 1600 Ha. Today it host more than 50 #manufacturing companies from all over the world. It created more than 50000 #employment bringing work, self worth and contributed to many many more families. Thanks to Edmund Chong and team for hosting Enterprise Singapore visit to VSIP Hai Phong. The development goes beyond the physical boundary of the #industrial park. Numerous #infrastructure development are completed. Roads were built, port was developed, parks were created and led to a general increase in the overall welfare of the people of the province. For example, It took me half the time to travel from the city centre to the industrial area. With the growth of the electronics industry in the northern belt of Vietnam, the deep sea port in Lach Hyuen also played an important part. Import of raw materials come from across South East Asia, China and export of completed goods from provinces including Bac Ninh, Vin Phuc and Hai Phong moved to US and Europe. Long term infrastructure development are long and ardous. In many instances it failed and does not take place. When it is succesful, it is certainly important to celebrate as it contributes greatly to the people and society. Reminds me to always take some photo of the start of every infrastructure projects!
