Last week, my team and I made a trip to #Switzerland and the #UK. I spoke at the FT Commodities Summit and engaged leaders of various global trading companies like Mercuria, Vitol, Trafigura, COFCO International, bp and Macquarie Group. We reaffirmed our commitment to support our global traders in #Singapore through facilitating their business in #Asia and in emerging #green products such as carbon credits. The companies were also keen to grow their capabilities in Singapore in #AI and talent development. In the UK, we were warmly welcomed by our innovation ecosystem partners in Cambridge and London. Many thanks to Flagship Pioneering, Quotient Therapeutics, Deeptech Labs, Cambridge Innovation Capital, Innovate UK and Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult for sharing their insights on the latest #deeptech developments, particularly in the areas life sciences, quantum and semiconductors. We will continue to deepen partnerships with our counterpart agency for innovation - InnovateUK, to explore 3rd country collaborations in the Asia Pacific region. Europe presents many opportunities for our businesses and I look forward to even more collaborations for both regions.

Going Dutch takes on a whole meaning. Enterprise Singapore is glad to partner Startupbootcamp (Beth Henderson and Mercedes de Miranda) on the Beyond Borders programme for Amsterdam and bringing our #Singapore companies and #startups (Heron AirBridge Ella by Crown Digital IO Kinexcs Polymerize) to expand into the Netherlands. Our companies got to learn about the business environment along with cultural nuances of doing business with the locals. They also met with many key partners and contacts in market. The delegation had the opportunity to attend the Eurostar Day event, connecting with representatives and companies across #Europe and delving deeper into the Eurostar funding programme. The Netherlands is Singapore's 2nd largest Direct Investment Abroad in 2022, attesting again to its conducive business environment for Singapore companies to land. We look forward to hearing successful outcomes from this cohort and are excited for the next one! Please reach out to Cassandra Goh and Jerrold Chua if you are interested to be part of this exciting journey!

Kaixo #BasqueCountry! Enterprise Singapore and Basque Trade & Investment / Agencia Vasca de Internacionalización signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote two-way internationalisation and innovation collaborations between Basque and Singapore companies. Sectors of focus include advanced manufacturing, agrifoodtech, urban solutions & infrastructure services, and offshore wind. The MOU was signed by Mikel Amundarain Leibar, President of BasqueTrade and Vice Minster of Industry for Basque Country, and Alan Yeo, Director Europe of Enterprise Singapore. This is the first bilateral MOU between BasqueTrade and EnterpriseSG. Enterprise Singapore also brought Singapore companies GSS ENERGY LTD, Nanofilm Technologies International Limited, Esco, and Durapower Holdings Pte Ltd to meet with key partners and companies in the Basque Country, so as to gain insights on Basque capabilities and explore partnerships. We are happy that various business opportunities have been discovered and will be advanced in subsequent meetings. Like Singapore, Basque Country has a strong focus on innovation and advanced manufacturing, with 25% of the Basque Country's GDP from industry activities and 50% of Spain’s automotive component companies based out of the Basque Country. For Basque companies looking to expand their footprint in the growing Southeast Asian region, Singapore and our companies are well placed to support such internationalisation efforts. Big thanks to all the partners and people who made this trip possible: Ainhoa Ondarzabal, Alberto Gavín Acero and Pablo Huidobro Eguia Cristina Andrés Urarte at Euskadiko Parke Teknologikoa - Parque Tecnológico de Euskadi Raquel Piñan at ACICAE - Basque Country Automotive Cluster Mikel Etxabe at AFM Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Baltasar Perez at Fagor Automation | CNC & Feedback Systems | Automation Solutions Yolanda R. Today, on 22nd March, EuroCham’s Sustainability Committee sat down with Enterprise Singapore to discuss the Singapore offshore wind strategy. We would like to express our gratitude to Enterprise Singapore for hosting us, especially to Mr Soh Lengwan, Mr Taufik Ahmed Faroock, Mr Finian Lim Run Jian, Ms Anisah Ahmad and Ms Joyce Kua for an engaging dialogue and for continuing fostering collaborations with European organisations. The dialogue touched upon the importance of decarbonisation and energy transitions in the region, in which offshore wind could play a big role. We explored various collaboration avenues, solutions, bottlenecks and strategies to position Singapore as a base for offshore wind supply chain, financing, R&D and innovation hub. Moreover, we discussed European initiatives and frameworks that can help foster greater collaboration between Europe and Asia. We would like to thank all who joined us and made this dialogue a fruitful one. #TeamEurope #EuroChamSG #OffshoreWindStrategy Nele Cornelis Melissa Holck Christine Jeremiah Tanya Sahni Clémence Fournier-Talmant Eva Vincetic Benoit Sauveroche Eduardo H.
