Boost Capabilities

Use these initiatives to boost your company’s capacity and expertise, and soar in the air transport sector.

CAAS Aviation Challenge

Join the Aviation Challenge launched in 2014 by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and develop innovative solutions to automate labour-intensive processes in airport operations.

Each year, there will be a call for proposals to tackle a specific issue, for example, how to improve air baggage and cargo handling. You stand a chance to receive up to S$3 million funding to develop prototypes for solutions, if your project is shortlisted by a panel of senior representatives from the aviation community.

Productivity Push for Changi Airport

Join the initiatives led by CAAS to boost productivity at Changi Airport using technology.

The S$15 million Fast and Seamless Travel (FAST) Fund encourages airlines to adopt self-service passenger processes at Changi Airport. Airlines can receive grants between S$400,000 to S$2.5 million to offset the costs of implementing self-service initiatives such as check-in kiosks, bag drop systems, and self-boarding gates.

CAAS and Changi Airport Group (CAG) will also invest over S$20 million in the Smart Apron Initiative from 2016 to 2022. Through this plan, CAG will install an airport-wide wireless communication network in the apron area – the zone where aeroplanes park on the asphalt – to improve communication and efficiency.

CAG Living Lab Programme

Work with CAG under its S$50 million Living Lab Programme to develop new technology solutions for airports. Some of its recent projects include taxi queue analytics to provide passengers with better advice on ground transport options.

Start Digital

Start Digital is an initiative, in collaboration with IMDA, under the SMEs Go Digital programme to help SMEs adopt digital solutions right from the start.

New companies often prioritise business development and profit generation. As a result, operations management may take a backseat. By digitalising early, you can better focus and capture opportunities for your business without being constrained by day-to-day operations.

With our Start Digital Pack, SMEs can get access to modular digital solutions that will help accelerate their start up process and business growth. For more information, visit www.imda.gov.sg/StartDigital.
