The ELP is a work-learn programme that provides fresh polytechnic and Institute of Technical Education (ITE) graduates opportunities to build on the skills and knowledge they have acquired in school. As of 2017, 91 graduates have been placed in 31 Energy & Chemical companies.
Mid-career professionals who have an interest in entering the chemicals industry can upgrade their capabilities through CCP programmes by Workforce Singapore (WSG). The courses equip mid-career professionals from non-chemical backgrounds with the knowledge and skills to pursue a career in this industry – including technical positions in manufacturing, engineering and development.

The Skills Framework for Energy & Chemicals covers six career tracks and involves 53 job roles in the sector. This framework provides key information about the industry and identifies 95 technical skills and competencies required across the different job roles. There will be relevant training programmes for the workforce to develop these skills.
