Developed by Enterprise Singapore and Workforce Singapore following a study with seven pilot companies and workshops involving over 70 retailers, the Retail Job Redesign Framework guides retailers in reviewing their employees’ job scopes, enabling them to improve productivity and efficiency, optimise workforce, and improve employee attraction and retention.
You can find the framework here with self-help resources including templates to implement job redesign, recommended pre-fitted solutions and access to information on financial assistance and professional services.
Companies in the retail sector can groom and retain suitable talent for retail-specific roles (such as retail supervisor and retail manager) through the Earn and Learn Programme (ELP). This is a work-study programme designed to help fresh graduates from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and polytechnics have a career head start in the retail industry.
Through an 18-month placement with structured on-the-job and institution-based training, you can provide individuals with the relevant skills to meet the needs of your company. Eligible SMEs can receive grant support to defray the costs of providing structured on-the-job training and to encourage young talent to set out career progression pathways.
