Media Releases 11 Sep 2019 Updated 12 Sep 2019 Singapore-China (Chongqing) Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum and MOU Signing Ceremony Share: MR No.: 051/19 Singapore, Wednesday, 11 September 2019 The Singapore-China (Chongqing) Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum, jointly organised by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Enterprise Singapore and Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, was held today in Singapore. Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Trade and Industry, and Mr Chen Min’er, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and Secretary of Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) graced the forum and delivered speeches. Mr Hong Xiaoyong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Singapore, Mr Wu Cunrong, Member of the Standing Committee, the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee; Executive Vice Mayor of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, and Mr Teo Siong Seng, Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation also spoke at the event. Mr Chan and Mr Chen also launched the China-Singapore (Chongqing) International Data Channel (IDC), which is China’s first point-to-point international data channel with another country. More than 500 Singapore and Chongqing business leaders and government officials attended the forum. At the side-lines of the forum, Mr Chan and Mr Chen witnessed project signings across financial services, aviation, transport & logistics, and information and communication technology sectors. Financial Services 4 Haitong International Securities (Singapore) Pte Ltd – RHT Capital Pte Ltd – Chongqing Yuhai Precision Manufacturing Co., Ltd – Hua Xia Bank MOU to assist companies from Chongqing and the Western China region to list on the Singapore Exchange. Aviation 5 ST Engineering – Chongqing Airport Group Co., Ltd Collaboration to conduct a feasibility study on the set up of line maintenance operations in Chongqing. Transport & Logistics 6 Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd – China Construction Bank Chongqing Branch – China Construction Bank Singapore Branch Three-way collaboration to promote the development of “International Land-Sea Southern Transport Corridor”, strengthen logistics collaboration with Mapletree and achieve new financial policy breakthrough between Singapore and China. 7 PSA China – Chongqing Port and Logistics Office, Chongqing Municipal Government Collaboration in data connectivity and exchange to capture status of cargo movements along the International Land Sea Trade Corridor. 8 YCH Group – Chongqing Banan District Industrial, Commercial and Trade Management Committee Cooperation to develop regional distribution centres, city supply chain and smart warehouses in Chongqing, as well as new supply chain routes and networks to enhance the support of trades between China and ASEAN. Information and Communication Technology 9 Singapore Press Holdings Limited – Chongqing Liang Jiang New Area Administrative Committee Singapore Press Holdings plans to establish a China Digital Innovation Centre in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, as an extension of its internal technology team to meet the application development needs of the group and provide services to their customers in Singapore and China. 10 ST Engineering Electronics – Chongqing Big Data Application Development Management Bureau Cooperation to provide traffic, smart lighting (outdoor and indoor) and public safety solutions for smart city projects in Chongqing Yubei District. 11 WiseNet Asia Pte Ltd – Chongqing Xiantao Big Data Valley Investment and Administration Co., Ltd – Chongqing Yubei District High-level Talent Service Center Collaboration to provide internship and job opportunities for overseas young talents in Chongqing Xiantao Big Data Valley and Yubei District. WiseNet Asia will also introduce training programmes for key leaders and business professionals in Chongqing.
