Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The early cycle application will open in early October and close on 31 October. Subsequently, applications under the main cycle will open after the end of the GCE 'A' Level examinations and close two weeks after the release of your GCE ‘A’ Level results.

You may submit your preliminary results or predicted ‘A’ Level/IB Programme results. Please note that male applicants who will have to enlist for National Service in the near future may prefer to apply during the early cycle application period.

You should have excellent grades in 10 academic units of your GCE ‘A’ Level subjects. For students in the IB programme, you should obtain a minimum score of 40 points. Diploma holders should attain a Diploma with Merit.

Active participation in co-curricular activities, excellent communication skills, leadership potential and foreign language competency are key criteria as well.

If you apply through the early cycle by 31 October, we will start the assessment process in November. The selection process may stretch till January.

If you apply after the release of the GCE ‘A’ Level results through the main cycle, the selection process will start in March and end in May.

Shortlisted applicants will go through a series of assessments consisting of interviews, psychometric testing and case presentations.

For male applicants, you are encouraged to apply in the early cycle before your enlistment. You can also apply as soon as you receive your GCE ‘A’ level or polytechnic diploma results. However, please note that you may only be able to attend the interviews during your NS block-leave periods between May and July. Hence, we recommend that you apply in the early cycle, or nearing the end of your NS when it is easier to apply for leave. If you are successful in your application, we will hold the scholarship for you until you have completed your NS.
