Plug and Play

Plug and Play APAC is Enterprise Singapore’s Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) partner in Manila, the Philippines.

Plug and Play is a stage-agnostic open innovation platform that runs accelerator programmes and corporate innovation activities in more than 35 locations globally. Presently, Plug and Play has made more than 1,000 investments, and has a global network of over 500 corporate partners.

Together with Launchgarage, one of the leading technology startup accelerators in the Philippines, Plug and Play is partnering Enterprise Singapore to run a GIA Acceleration Programme, which supports Singapore-based technology startups and SMEs in entering the Philippines through Manila.

Applications for the upcoming cohort of the GIA Manila Acceleration Programme in March-April 2023 are now open. Interested applicants can sign up here, and a representative from Plug and Play APAC will be in contact. Applications for the March-April 2023 cohort will close on 17 February 2023, 1800hrs (SGT, GMT+8).

GIA Acceleration Programme

The GIA Acceleration Programme to Manila is curated for high-potential technology startups and SMEs across all sectors, and will include rigorous growth training, market immersion to Manila and ongoing mentorship.

The GIA Manila Acceleration Programme will be offered in a hybrid format. Workshops and introductory meetings will be conducted virtually, before the cohort flies to Manila for the physical immersion programme.

Hybrid programme

The programme starts with a “Preparation” phase, covering workshops, pitch polishing sessions, 1:1 mentorship sessions and introductory meetings with prospective partners to position you for success in Manila.

Participants will then join a one-week “Immersion” phase in Manila, to continue curated in-depth business discussions and engage with the ecosystem partners, corporates and investors in the Philippines. This immersion will provide participants with a better understanding of the market and help you further refine your expansion plans to the Philippines.

Upon return to Singapore, participants will have the opportunity to pitch at Plug and Play’s APAC Summit and continue to have deal flows facilitated by the GIA Manila team from Plug and Play. All participants will be guaranteed at least five in-depth business leads with prospective partners from Manila.

  • Overview of Programme:
    • Weeks 1 & 2 – Virtual
Onboarding, Ventures Assessment, Market Preparatory Workshops, Pitching to Investors
    • Week 3 – Physical in Manila
Customised BD Meetings with potential business leads, Ecosystem Engagement Events, Networking Opportunities and Office Hours with Industry Leaders
    • Week 4 – Virtual
