At your service: This food establishment found a creative solution to its long-standing manpower issue.

Want a bespoke cocktail ala minute? A robot bartender, one of the first few in Singapore, at The Singapura Club can whip it up in a jiffy.

Founder Jerry Singh first saw the robot in action in China and had been keen to bring it in to ease the manpower crunch but accelerated his plans amid COVID-19. With the support of his business advisor from SME Centre@Little India, Rajkumar Thanapalan, and the Enterprise Development Grant, he was able to do just that.

The robot, which can also make coffees and mocktails in minutes, was installed at The Singapura Club’s Seletar Aerospace outlet when it opened last November. Since then, it has not only freed up time for employees to spend with customers, but also become the resident crowd-puller.

Wanting to ease the workflow further, they also implemented a point-of-sale system to help with sales management and accounting, and an automated dishwasher for its outlet at Haji Lane.

This local F&B outfit now enjoys greater consistency and productivity, while providing even better service. This paves the way for them to stay ahead and continue to keep growing.
