Singapore’s Bilateral Agreements with Cambodia

  • Cambodia Bilateral Agreement - 1

    ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA)

    This covers trade in goods, investment, and services.

    Cambodia is a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The AFTA is part of the Asian Economic Community agreement among the 10 ASEAN countries, including Singapore, and includes the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement, which eliminates tariffs for almost all goods and services.

    International Investment Agreement (IIA)

    IIAs promote and protect investments between two countries.

    The IIA promotes greater investment flows between Cambodia and Singapore, and sets out standards of protection for investments made in one country by investors from the other country.

    Singapore–Cambodia Double Tax Avoidance Agreement (DTA)

    DTAs provide relief from double taxation in the situation where income is subject to tax for both countries.

    The provisions of the DTA apply to persons who are residents of one or both of the Contracting States. Please refer to IRAS for more information.

  • Cambodia Bilateral Agreement - 4

    Singapore–Cambodia Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA)

    MRAs reduce barries to trade by easing customs clearance for exports between both countries.

    Under the MRA, Cambodia’s Customs Service will recognise goods exported by Singapore’s certified companies under the Secure Trade Partnership programme as being of lower risk. Likewise, Singapore Customs will recognise goods exported by Cambodia’s Authorised Economic Operator companies as being of lower risk.
