The Competition (Amendment) Bill was passed in Parliament today. The Bill amends the Competition Act 2004 and the Enterprise Singapore Board Act 2018 to transfer the consumer product safety and legal metrology functions from Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) to the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS). Related amendments will be made to the Consumer Protection (Trade Descriptions and Safety Requirements) Act 1975 and the Weights & Measures Act 1975.
