: Speech by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong at EnterpriseSG Austin Overseas Centre Launch
On 13 April 2026, Mr Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, delivered a speech at the launch of Enterprise Singapore’s (EnterpriseSG) Austin Overseas Centre.
He highlighted that in a more contested and fragmented world, Singapore needs to remain open and build deeper partnerships with trusted and like-minded economies. He pointed to Singapore’s longstanding and trusted partnership with the United States, with Texas serving as a strategic partner in areas such as energy, manufacturing and technology. He added that the launch of EnterpriseSG’s new overseas centre in Austin will serve as a bridge to support companies from both markets, facilitating investments, partnerships and new opportunities.
