On 25 August 2026, Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, and Co-Chair of the Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council (SGCC), delivered opening remarks at the 16th SGCC meeting.
Minister Ong said that Singapore-Guangdong cooperation has strong foundations built over decades. In a changing global environment, he highlighted opportunities to deepen collaboration in high-quality sectors such as advanced manufacturing, clean energy, AI and biomedical sciences. Both sides can also leverage complementary strengths to support companies in accessing regional and global markets.
