: Opening address by Enterprise Singapore Chairman Mr Lee Chuan Teck at Standards & Conformance Gala Dinner 2026
On 11 June 2026, Mr Lee Chuan Teck, Chairman of Enterprise Singapore, delivered an opening address at the Standards and Conformance (S&C) Gala Dinner 2026. He noted that over six decades, Singapore has developed over 1,000 Singapore Standards, with S&C providing a common ground, offering a neutral, rules-based foundation that builds trust between countries, keeps markets open, and enables businesses to innovate and internationalise.
He also outlined three priorities for the next phase: offering Singapore as a test bed to pilot new standards in emerging areas like AI, clean energy, healthcare and biomed; working with ASEAN partners towards greater harmonisation of standards; and leaning forward even more in ISO and other organisations to help develop standards for the world.
