: Speech by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations at Standards & Conformance Summit 2026
On 12 June 2026, Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, delivered a speech at the Standards and Conformance (S&C) Summit 2026, elaborating on the three strategic pillars of the S&C 2035 roadmap.
Firstly, on driving economic growth, she outlined plans to work with industry partners in key sectors like AI and clean energy; engage incubators and venture capitalists to recognise S&C credentials as a competitive advantage; and partner anchor companies to encourage wider S&C adoption across their supply chains.
Secondly, on building a future-ready ecosystem, she highlighted the use of regulatory sandboxes to validate emerging technologies against S&C frameworks ahead of the market.
Thirdly, on strengthening Singapore's role as a trusted regional partner, she outlined plans to expand harmonisation and mutual recognition, and deepen ASEAN standards cooperation to address cross-border technical barriers.
