On 13 March 2026, Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State for National Development and Trade and Industry, delivered the welcome address at the Singapore Business Federation's (SBF) Jobs Skills Integrator for Wholesale Trade (JSIT-WST) event. He shared that wholesale traders must continue to stay competitive through digitalisation, automation, and decarbonisation, especially amid today’s uncertain geopolitical and macroeconomic environment. He highlighted that the JSIT-WST has seen good progress and success stories, and that the initiative will continue to engage more companies, address new jobs, as well as reskill and upskill new workers by early 2027.
