: Opening speech by Mr Jeffrey Siow, Acting Minister for Transport And Senior Minister of State for Finance, Co-Chair of The Singapore-Shandong Business Council (SSBC), at the 26th SSBC Meeting on 31 March 2026
On 31 March 2026, Mr Jeffrey Siow, Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance, and Co-Chair of the Singapore-Shandong Business Council (SSBC) delivered the opening remarks at the 26th SSBC.
Mr Siow shared three key areas in which Singapore and Shandong have been collaborating on and achieving good progress, namely Trade and Economic Connectivity, Green and Digital Innovation, and People-to-people ties. Besides noting Shandong as one of Singapore’s largest investment destinations in China, with nearly RMB 140 billion in more than 2,200 projects, Mr Siow also shared that over 300 Shandong-based companies have tapped on Singapore as a regional base for their operations across Southeast Asia.
