Eureka Clusters

About this programme

The Information Technology for European Advancement (ITEA4) is an initiative as part of the Eureka Clusters Progamme.

Through this initiative, Singapore companies will have the opportunity to work with more than 200 MNCs and corporates. This includes accessing partners across European MNCs, government agencies, research institutes, SMEs and universities from 35 participating countries.


Key features

The programme is open to projects from the following sectors of software innovation:

  • Smart cities
    To support the management of cities, whether in terms of housing, energy, mobility or emergency services
  • Smart health
    To propose solutions for a more efficient healthcare chain, from drug and therapy design to hospitals and home care
  • Smart industry
    To provide new design, manufacturing, maintenance capabilities and support for an efficient supply chain
  • Smart communities
    To offer new means of trust-building and community development that have greater efficiency, more personalisation and an added human touch
  • Smart mobility
    To innovate new sustainable transport systems and services with improved efficiency, autonomy and energy consumption
  • Smart energy
    To develop green energy sources and distribution networks and improve energy efficiency for a more sustainability society
  • Smart engineering
    To expand our capability to engineer complex systems and software
  • Safety and security
    To increase the resilience of critical systems and protect against cyber attacks

Eligibility

Singapore companies must partner at least one entity from one of the other 15 participating countries. Companies are encouraged to collaborate with a mix of large companies, research organisations, and SMEs. No partner should be responsible for more than 70% of the project budget.

The consortium must cooperate on a new product, process, or solution with a civilian purpose that can be rapidly commercialised in global markets.

The Singapore company must meet all of the following criteria to qualify for funding:

  • Business entity registered and operating in Singapore
  • Company has at least 30% local equity held directly or indirectly by Singaporean(s) and/or Singapore PR(s), determined by the ultimate individual ownership
  • Company is financially ready to start and complete the project
  • Meet all the criteria of the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG)
