GIA New York City Acceleration Programme

About this programme

Organised by WEVE, the GIA New York City Acceleration Programme is designed to support Singaporean startups in their expansion to the New York market. The programme consists of:

Eight Weeks of Virtual Acceleration
The programme will kick off with eight weeks of virtual acceleration, consisting of group sessions and 1:1 mentorship and business development opportunities. The group sessions will cover a wide array of topics related to US expansion, including legal and accounting set up, hiring, sales, fundraising, marketing, go-to-market strategy, and much more. Each session is led by a highly qualified expert from WEVE’s expansive network, and we invite all senior members of your team to join this professional development opportunity. The participating startups will also be assigned a Lead Mentor, or Entrepreneur in Residence, who is uniquely qualified to support that company with their US expansion. Lead Mentor meetings will take place for an hour every week to validate your US G2M roadmap, highlight key action items, discuss updates and potential challenges, and make specific asks of the mentor or WEVE team. Throughout the programme, both the WEVE team and Lead Mentor will facilitate numerous 1:1 introductions to support with business development, investment, and further mentorship.

Two Weeks of In-Market Experience in New York City
During the final two weeks of the programme, startups will join us in-person in New York City for an immersive introduction to the New York ecosystem. These weeks will be jam-packed with networking opportunities, in-person group sessions, ecosystem visits, and, of course, in-person meetings with potential clients, partners, and investors. The programme will culminate with a Demo Day, where participants will be invited to show off their hard work in a pitch event geared towards both investment and sales.
