For F&B businesses to scale and generate additional revenue without the traditional overhead costs of physical outlets.
About this programme
The Ready Meals Launchpad programme, in partnership with 7-Eleven and Nanyang Polytechnic, supports F&B companies in developing and bringing their ready meal products to market. The programme provides companies direct access to 7-Eleven’s retail platform to test and validate consumer demand before scaling, with listing fees waived so companies can concentrate resources on product development.
For companies that require technical expertise, Nanyang Polytechnic offers support covering product development, research and development, and testing. Eligible companies can receive up to 50% subsidy from Enterprise Singapore for these development costs.
This programme aims to make it easier for companies to develop and launch their own ready meal products, creating new revenue opportunities without the traditional overhead costs associated with physical outlets.
Eligibility
Business entity registered and operating in Singapore
Company has at least 30% local equity held directly or indirectly by Singaporean(s) and/or Singapore PR(s), determined by the ultimate individual ownership
In operation for more than 3 years and has at least 5 physical outlets in Singapore
Requirements
Company has to develop a suitable ready meal product to be retailed at 7-Eleven's outlets exclusively for 8 weeks*.
The product must be Halal and new to market with no prior commercial sales through grocery retailers, online channels, or owned outlets.
For example, a company that is already retailing a ready to eat nasi lemak meal cannot launch the same product at 7-Eleven for this programme. The company, however, may choose to launch a nasi lemak-inspired sandwich or rice ball.
Companies may launch products in the same format as their current offerings (e.g. ready-to-eat chicken rice) but should establish a clear unique selling proposition and maintain a competitive price point to differentiate themselves in the market.
There is no restriction on food format or category (e.g., grab-and-go snacks, bento meals, desserts), but companies should have existing experience in that category. For example, a company specialising in chicken rice should not venture into ready to eat desserts for this programme. The product should be from a known brand and demonstrate clear consumer appeal.
The product must be chilled with a shelf life of 5 to 6 days and individually portioned.
Minimum quantity of 600 per SKU to be delivered to 7-Eleven’s distribution center daily for 8 weeks*. 7-Eleven will handle the distribution of the products from the distribution center to the individual stores. Companies that require assistance with scaling production may approach Enterprise Singapore.
