GIA Acceleration Programme to Bangkok

The GIA Acceleration Programme to Bangkok is curated for high-potential technology startups and SMEs across all sectors, and will include market immersion, curated business matching, and one-on-one mentorship sessions.

Virtual Programme

As a result of the situation brought about by COVID-19, the Bangkok GIA Acceleration Programme has been revised to the following:

  • Stage 1: Five-week virtual programme

  • The programme starts with a one-week preparation phase that includes workshops, pitch polishing, and mentorship sessions to guide your market entry strategy in Bangkok.

After which, there will be an in-market business connections segment comprising one-on-one curated meetings with corporates and investors. These facilitated business meetings will span over two to four weeks.

  • Stage 2: Optional one-week immersion to Bangkok*

  • The optional physical component for this programme includes potential follow-up meetings from Stage 1. As part of the programme, participants can access and receive support from both industry mentors and entrepreneurs-in-residence, who will also assist participants with strategising their post-programme expansion plans at the end of the immersion trip

*subject to prevailing conditions & travel restrictions.

There will be a post-subsidy participation fee of S$1,750 for Stage 1.

Application deadline: 31 October 2021
Shortlist announcement: 5 November 2021
Orientation day: 10 November 2021

Physical Programme

The programme has two stages:

  • Stage 1: Two-day preparation seminars and workshops in Singapore

  • Participants will undergo an onboarding programme in Singapore, consisting of an introduction to the Thai ecosystem and business environment. Participants will also meet with mentors to discuss their expansion plans for Thailand, so mentors can assist with fine-tuning the participants’ market entry strategy.

  • Stage 2: One-week in-market immersion to Bangkok

  • Participants will meet relevant stakeholders in the Thai startup and innovation ecosystem such as corporates and investors through a structured acceleration programme, which includes networking sessions, company visits, and semi-customised meetings. As part of the programme, participants will access and receive support from both industry mentors and entrepreneurs-in-residence, who will also assist participants with strategising their post-programme expansion plans at the end of the immersion trip.

GIA Demand-led Programme – Tech Showcase

Alongside Enterprise Singapore, RISE also organises a GIA Demand-led Programme, Tech Showcase, which offers business and investment matching opportunities, allowing participants to form new collaborations with Thai corporates.

The GIA Demand-led Programme will give technology startups and SMEs the opportunity to submit solutions to problem statements generated by RISE’s network of corporates.

Typically run as a full-day programme, the Bangkok GIA Demand-led Programme has been revised as a result of the situation brought about by COVID-19, and will now take place virtually, with business matching taking place across the span of a month.

The GIA Demand-led Programme consists of the following segments:

  • Pitch Polishing

  • Successful applicants will attend a pitch polishing session and participants can learn from mentors on how to improve their pitch delivery. This segment will help participants better understand how to structure their pitches to address the problem statements of the corporates taking part in the programme.

  • Pitching to corporates

  • The GIA Demand-led Programme culminates in one-to-one private pitching session for participants and corporates. Participating technology startups and SMEs can pitch their ideas to corporates and look forward to business matching and networking opportunities. This segment will be focused on matching participants and their technology solutions with corporates that have a corresponding problem statement to be addressed.
