Boost Capabilities

Whether you are a maritime company, or a technology engineering company with a maritime focus, explore these initiatives to build your expertise for the local and global sea transport market.

Maritime Cluster Fund

Apply for the Maritime Cluster Fund (MCF) administered by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore to develop your business and increase productivity.

Two of three components under the MCF are relevant to you as a maritime company:

  1. MCF-Business Development covers your company’s eligible expenses when you set up new businesses, or venture into new lines of maritime functions in Singapore.
  2. MCF-Productivity enables your company to be more productive by improving your business processes and workflow, or by developing and adopting technology solutions. Technology or engineering companies with a maritime focus are also eligible to apply if you meet the qualifying criteria.
Smart Port Challenge

Join MPA’s Smart Port Challenge if you have ideas to drive digital transformation in the maritime industry.

The six-month programme aims to identify challenges related to technologies such as the Internet of Things, data analytics, machine learning and blockchain and to translate ideas into commercial solutions.

If your idea is selected, you will receive seed funding of up to S$50,000 to develop full prototypes of your solutions. There are also networking opportunities with the maritime, technology, start-up and VC communities.

Maritime Innovation and Technology (MINT) Fund

Apply to the S$200 million MINT Fund under the MPA to support your upstream research or product development. If your proposal is selected, you get the chance to collaborate with a team of MPA and industry representatives to develop and test your solutions together. The fund covers up to 50% of project costs.

Start Digital

Start Digital is an initiative, in collaboration with IMDA, under the SMEs Go Digital programme to help SMEs adopt digital solutions right from the start.

New companies often prioritise business development and profit generation. As a result, operations management may take a backseat. By digitalising early, you can better focus and capture opportunities for your business without being constrained by day-to-day operations.

With our Start Digital Pack, SMEs can get access to modular digital solutions that will help accelerate their start up process and business growth. For more information, visit www.imda.gov.sg/StartDigital.
